Although we love to sell all our customers new sheds we also want you to get as much use out or your wooden shed or wooden garden building and to do that it needs to last more than a couple of seasons so you really need to carry out shed maintenance properly which will extend the life of your new pride and joy considerably.
As with anything made from wood your new shed needs to be sealed against the elements, take care in choosing as good a quality stain as possible and a colour that blends your wooden structure into the surrounding garden.
Shed Maintenance – Window
Glass or perspex windows should always be sealed against the uk’s elements, we would recommend a bead of clear exterior silicon sealant run round the wood bead and glass. This is best done both inside and out side the building. If you are erecting the wooden shed for the first time then it is wise to set the glass in silicone from the outset this will stop any water rotting the frame.
Shed Maintenance – roof
Always keep any trees or hedges that are near your shed trimmed well back away from the building so that branches and twigs do not rub against the roof covering as it is easily ripped, always repair any damage to the roof as a wet shed means wet contents.
Everything you need to maintain your shed is available from B&Q
