Palram Canopia Palermo 14x14 Gazebo with bronze-tinted polycarbonate roof and aluminium frame

Grey Gazebo Sizes

A permanent gazebo gives shade and shelter over a dining table, lounge set, barbecue or hot tub, and the size decides how much of the patio it covers. Below you will find every grey gazebo size we compare, from compact 8′ x 6′ BBQ shelters to 14′ x 20′ garden gazebos, with links to compare prices from leading UK retailers.

Sizes are given as width x depth in feet and usually describe the roof footprint. Check the post positions and the clear space between them on the product page, especially if the gazebo will go over a hot tub or a large table.

Small grey gazebos

BBQ shelters and compact gazebos for a bistro set or a small table.

Medium grey gazebos

Room for a dining table and chairs or a lounge set, the most popular sizes.

Large grey gazebos

Large gazebos that cover a big outdoor dining or lounge area or a hot tub.

How to choose the right grey gazebo size

Measure what goes underneath

Measure your table with the chairs pulled out, or your hot tub with room to walk around it, and add at least 50cm on each side. That gives the minimum size of gazebo you need.

Fixed, sliding or adjustable roof

Fixed polycarbonate roofs keep off rain all year. Sliding and adjustable louvred roofs let you open the roof to the sun and close it when the weather turns.

Open or enclosed

Open gazebos are the most flexible. Enclosed models with side panels or doors become a sheltered outdoor room that you can use for more of the year.

Anchor it securely

A gazebo acts like a sail in strong winds, so it must be bolted to a solid base such as paving, concrete or decking with the fixings recommended by the maker.

Grey Gazebo size FAQs

What size gazebo do I need for a six seat table?

A 10′ x 10′ gazebo, about 3m square, fits a typical six seat dining table with room to pull the chairs out. For eight seats, look at 12′ x 10′ and above.

What size gazebo fits over a hot tub?

Most hot tubs are around 2m square, so a 10′ x 10′ gazebo is a minimum, with 12′ x 10′ or larger giving more room to get in and out.

Do I need planning permission for a gazebo?

Most garden gazebos are permitted development. Within 2m of a boundary the overall height should not exceed 2.5m, so check the height if it will sit near a fence.

How do I secure a gazebo?

Bolt the posts to a solid base such as concrete, paving or decking using the fixings supplied. Never leave a permanent gazebo free standing.
