The roof features a 122mm thick SIP construction sandwiched between OSB boards. Construction
This garden office represents over 50 years of Forest Garden’s expertise in timber construction. The innovative SIP construction method means all wall, floor and roof panels arrive pre-insulated and pre-cut, significantly simplifying assembly compared to traditional wooden sheds.
Wall Construction: Each wall SIP consists of 75mm of insulation between two OSB sheets. External cladding is 15mm premium tongue and groove kiln-dried timber supported by 28x28mm framing. Internal cladding is pre-cut MDF with an attractive vertical beaded profile, already primed and ready for painting.
Floor Construction: The 108mm thick floor SIP is supported by wrapped floor bearers that prevent rot and damp rising from the ground. The floor is left uncovered, allowing you to install your choice of flooring such as carpet or laminate.
Roof Construction: The 122mm thick roof SIP features the same primed MDF interior cladding as the walls, creating an attractive finish. The EPDM rubber membrane roof is applied as one continuous sheet with no joins.
Treatment & Guarantee
The timber is supplied untreated and requires treatment upon assembly and annually thereafter. Forest Garden recommend products including Sikkens Cetol HLS Plus, Restol Wood Oil, Timmersol ETS Double Protectant, Osmo Country Colour and Osmo Natural Oil Woodstain.

Doors & Windows
The Xtend 4.0+ features fully glazed double doors with a full-length adjacent window pane containing a half-height opening window. All glazing is A-rated, double glazed for superior heat and noise insulation, with toughened glass for safety. The door frame is reinforced and secured with a key-operated 7-point multi-lock featuring a Ultion three-star security barrel. Opening windows are also lockable with their own keys.
